In many of our projects we explicitly include research on how applications of nanotechnology eventually are embedded in society. This includes research into ethical, legal and other societal aspects that are pivotal in realizing the societal impact we intend to have. This is done in close collaboration with the research group Ethics and Technology.
This research is crucial to create the impact of our work. Important here is to look at the other than technical aspects that play a very important role in this process. Aspects such as ethics, legal aspects, perception of people, etcetera are essential in this. How can we include these aspects early in the process, to ensure that impact is created.
